Insect Guide

Every insect in Grounded is a loot table and a threat. Learn the common ones first. Leave wolf spiders and bombardiers until your block timing is real.

Giant backyard insects in the grass from Grounded

Safe early bugs versus things that one-shot you

Aphids, weevils, gnats, and lawn mites teach spacing. Red worker ants are the first real fight. Soldier ants need a shield or a stun club. Mosquitoes near ponds hit hard but drop the needle that heals you as you stab.

Orb weavers own webs and the hedge. Wolf spiders hunt at night and will chase you home. Ladybugs are tanks with great armor parts. Stinkbugs breathe gas. Bees live up top and punish bad aim in open air.

Insect ESP shows type and distance through grass walls. Use it to skip a wolf spider patrol, not to charge every red box. That is the calm way to run grounded hacks in a live yard.

Weaknesses that actually change the fight

Fresh hurts ladybugs, fire ants, and many upper-yard bugs. Spicy bites mites, orb weavers, and wolf spiders. Salty cuts red ants, black ants, and stinkbugs. Swap the weapon, do not just swing a bigger club.

Clubs stun. Spears keep you off mandibles. Bows and the crossbow handle fliers. Perfect blocks open a punish window. Our combat tips walk through that rhythm without a long theory page.

Flying targets are where aim assistance helps most. A mosquito over the pond is a small hitbox. Soft tracking beats panic sprays into the sky.

What to farm from each neighborhood

Oak and the red anthill: ant parts, quartzite, early science. Pond: mosquito needles, koi scale, silt, diving loot. Hedge: berries, ladybugs, silk. Trash heap and haze: black ants, sour bits, a gas mask first. Upper yard: fire ants, bees, juice, later story labs.

Creature lists shift when Obsidian Entertainment ships a backyard update. Confirm names on Grounded, then keep the same rule: if you cannot block it, you should not farm it yet.
