Combat Tips
Grounded combat is spacing, block timing, and the right element. Swing less. Step more. Leave when the music of a wolf spider starts behind you.
Block, punish, then move
A weevil or ladybug shield changes the game. Hold block for the obvious bite. Time a perfect block when you know the animation. That stun is your damage window. Do not empty the stamina bar on a 20-hit combo.
Kite around grass stems and pebbles so bigger bugs clip the scenery. Spears help you poke from a step farther. Clubs exist to create the next opening, not to win a slugfest with a bombardier.
Insect ESP tells you if a second bug is already walking into your duel. One soldier ant is a fight. Two plus a wolf spider is a reset.
Elements, range, and flying pests
Swap to Fresh, Spicy, or Salty before the pull. A “strong” mint mace is average against the wrong shell. The weapons guide and insect guide pair together on purpose.
Mosquitoes and bees punish camera panic. Aim assistance on Grounded aim steadies the track so you can focus on footing and reload. Keep smoothness high so shots still look like yours.
Bows and the crossbow are not optional forever. If a fight happens over water, a needle plus ranged backup beats swimming with a hammer.
Habits that keep you out of the respawn screen
Do not hunt wolf spiders at night until you have mid armor and a plan. Eat and drink before the pull. Carry two smoothies. Repair in the field. If the target walks toward your base, lead it away so the walls survive.
Practice one habit per session. Perfect block for three nights. Then elemental swaps. Then flier tracking. Stacking every tip on day two just makes you freeze.
